These two years, MEE has focused on Kitchens. Kitchens are a big project. Tudor, Medieval, 1940's or Modern. It is your choice.
This year, MEE focused on “All about Bedrooms”. Just think about all of the different bedrooms you could choose to create: a college dorm room, a child’s nursery, a Tudor bedroom with canopied four-poster, a teenager’s chaos, a luxurious dream retreat for yourself, or even (gasp!) a bordello. In the picture, we are peeking into Thumper's Bedroom, created by Maureen M.
Learn MoreThis year, the club did not have a “project” as such, but focused on the use of unusual containers for displaying miniatures. We learned about using gift bags, plastic and metal tins and containers, books, and circular objects (baskets, tins, and tea cups) as a basis for a mini display. The winning entry was created by Barb S. in 1:48 scale, and was originally a Pringles can.
Learn MoreThis year’s project was a back and/or front porch. By its very nature, there was huge scope for creativity. The porch also taught a full set of basic techniques for all aspects of making miniatures, including basic building techniques, approaches to flooring, painting and other wall treatments, electrification and lighting, making furniture and other accessories. This illustrated "Bird Watcher's Porch, was developed by Tina M. and contained 27 birds.
Learn MoreThere were two exciting projects planned for the 2016/2017 winter season. First, we built a set of bookends so you could include your minis in any bookcase. Then, we learned how to turn any picture frame into a shadow box suitable for displaying your miniatures.
Learn MoreWe built a lamp which contained a miniature scene. The lamp has a removable insert, and the possibilities for the contents are endless, including a Christmas scene, a bedroom, living room, study/den, or a display for a special mini collection.
Learn MoreHeading out to Main Street, the club developed their favorite shops. This Rumpled Quilt Skins Quilt Shop, which won Best Club Project, was created by Tina M.
Learn MoreThis year, the club did trailers, and what a variety there was! The winning entry was by Tina M.
Learn MoreWhat's stored in your attic? It was amazing what club members had stored in theirs! The pictured Attic was created by Joanne R.
Learn MoreWe needed to celebrate (our minis of course), so we developed the "Little Fair on the Prairie". The Dragonfly Arts and Crafts Booth was developed by Marg. W.
Learn MoreBased on an article in Nutshell News, MEE embarked on the development of "Indoor-Outdoor Rooms".
Learn MoreThe Miniature Enthusiasts of Edmonton has a number of special projects that we have worked on over the years.
